Wajiha lost both her parents when she was a baby. She lives with her maternal uncle, aunt, and their family (her Mamoo, Khala and Khaloo). They care for her deeply.
One afternoon, Wajiha went out to buy something from the neighborhood shop, but found it was closed. She walked farther to find another shop and soon became lost among the maze of similar-looking streets.
As she wandered, a man approached her and began walking alongside her. Frightened, she ran away. After hours on the streets, anxious and exhausted, Wajiha eventually reached a rickshaw stand where she met another man who seemed kind and trustworthy. He took her to the nearest police station.
By that time, her family had already reported her missing. The police contacted them, and Wajiha was safely reunited with her relatives.
Wajiha is a very shy and reserved child who was very shaken up by her ordeal. Luckily, she was able to make it through without getting into any serious trouble, but with her delicate sensibility, wandering lost and frightened through the streets all day was very scary and disorienting.
Wajiha has been out of school for some time because of financial challenges, but she loves learning and hopes to return to school soon. For now, she studies on her own and occasionally visits a neighborhood tutor. She spends most of her time helping with household chores and staying close to home.
