8-year-old Yasir was missing for more than 4 months. He was finally found from a government shelter home in Faisalabad. It was revealed that a neighborhood youth had abducted him and taken him to an unknown location in Karachi.
Details of the abduction are vague. It appears that he somehow escaped from the abductor. He was seen getting off the train in Faisalabad alone and was taken into custody by police, and handed over to the shelter home.
Roshni Helpline eventually located the child at the shelter home and brought him back. The child does not speak much and did not reveal any details of his ordeal. It is not clear why he was abducted and whether he was abused. Perhaps he was being trafficked to another city and somehow got away.
Yasir is very happy to be back home and does not display overt symptoms of trauma. He does not go to school and spends his time at home, with his 7 siblings. He goes outside without any apparent fear and loves playing cricket.
